Quiet Progress

It's been a couple of months, and since the dust has settled on selling the book proposals, I've been plodding away at the daily work of writing and painting for the gift book for adults. I feel fortunate that I am still able to share several of them with you through the webcomic, and hope you've been enjoying them.

The book will be somewhat different, not only incorporating longer sequences, but also organizing the illustrations and writings you're already familiar with into a more cohesive story that flows from idea to idea more naturally. I had a wonderful call with my editor to ensure the manuscript reflects that.

This will essentially be my operating procedure for the next few months, aside from meetings for more editorial guidance, art direction, and production (the size, weight, look and feel of the printed page), which I will continue to share as they pop up.

In the meantime, please drop a comment below to let me know how you feel about the art so far. I made the decision to paint everything digitally to work more quickly (no wait times between adding layers!), and to be more mobile with my art as I will be traveling this summer. 💛
